  • Targeted micro-credential for licensed security officers – Cairns and Townsville

    Australian Security Industry Association Ltd (ASIAL)

    Implementing a recommendation within the Queensland Security Industry Workforce Development Plan 2020-2025, ASIAL will develop and deliver a micro-credential course to address skills gaps and build skills levels to improve the productivity and performance for the state’s licensed security officers.

    The micro credential is currently under development and is anticipated to be delivered in Cairns and Townsville late 2024 or early 2025.
  • AgriConnect - Toowoomba

    Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers Ltd (QFVG)

    Addressing two key recommendations within the QLD Agriculture-Industry Workforce 2022–2027 plan, Queensland Fruit and Vegetable Growers Ltd will improve workforce attraction for individuals who are culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) through a pathway to employment program.

    The goal of the program is to educate and bring awareness focusing on the CALD community specifically the Adult Migrant English Program and Skills for Education and Employment students at TAFE QLD in Toowoomba. This initiative increases diversity of the industry, specifically the attraction and retention of individuals of CALD backgrounds, including new Australians. The program will commence mid-2024 and run for a period of 12 months.
  • Driving Townsville’s Future - Townsville

    Queensland Trucking Association (QTA)

    The Queensland Trucking Association is supporting participants seeking employment or wanting to upskill into a higher licencing class in the Transport and Logistics industry. By partnering with small-medium sized enterprises based in Townsville, and a registered training provider, QTA will deliver the Cert III in Driving Operations core units in a pre-apprenticeship training program where participants will gain the skills required for entry into the transport and logistics sector.

    By implementing a recommendation within the Townsville Workforce Development Plan 2020-2025, on completion participants can progress into apprenticeship/traineeships across Road Passenger and Freight sectors and address critical skills shortages for the region.
  • Greater Digital Skills Program – Greater Whitsunday Region

    Greater Whitsunday Alliance

    The Greater Whitsunday Digital Skills Program will support the uplift of business digital literacy within the region to rapidly facilitate digital knowledge sharing within the regional small-medium sized business community by providing one-on-one digital skills training to a select number of businesses (selection via an independent selection review process) to help establish an ongoing digital community of practice.

    This project will address workforce and skills challenges within the Greater Whitsunday Workforce Development Playbook recommending business-to-business collaboration and knowledge sharing to uplift the local workforce and business eco-system.
  • Season of the Dev on the Sunshine Coast

    Screen Queensland

    Embracing the unique spirit of the Sunshine Coast, this place-based games and skills development program offers a holistic approach to promote participant health and wellbeing while gaining invaluable business skills. Going beyond traditional training, the program will foster an inclusive environment that promotes the diversity of practitioners in the games development industry through a series of tailored programs. 

    Commencing late 2024, Screen Queensland will collaborate with industry leaders and training organisations to elevate the skills of local games developers through a 4-month series of interconnected events involving: 

    - workshops, panels and mentoring sessions 
    - networking events 
    - games jam (3-day event). 

    Topics will include games development, game design / narrative, programming, games business/production and personal development for creative professionals centred on mental health.
