Queensland Care Consortium

Round two recipients announced: $1 million in funding to care for workers who care for Queenslanders

By 2025-26, Queensland is forecast to need more than 487,000 workers in the health care and social assistance industry.

The challenge now for almost all employers is to attract, develop and retain a skilled workforce in a tight labour market.

Jobs Queensland joined with industry partners to create the Queensland Care Consortium (QCC). QCC funding aims to help to attract and retain workers in the health care and social assistance industry.

Results from a forum with industry stakeholders (PDF, 3MB) showed that psychosocial wellbeing poses the greatest threat to attracting and retaining staff in this industry.

Nine organisations will share in $1 million of funding for QCC round two. These projects were selected to boost the psychosocial wellbeing of health care and social assistance workers in Queensland.
