The Queensland Government is now in caretaker mode until after the state election. Minimal updates will be made to this site until after the election results are declared.

Introducing the Queensland Care Consortium

We were pleased to officially launch the Queensland Care Consortium (QCC) on 9 March.

The QCC is a partnership between Jobs Queensland, CheckUP Australia, Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA), Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) and The Services Union to support the development of the Health and Community Services sectors’ workforce.

The formation of the QCC is part of Jobs Queensland’s Health and Community Services Sectors Workforce Development project, a multi-year commitment to plan, develop and deliver practical workforce solutions driven by industry, for industry.

It is also in support of the Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022-2032?– a 10-year plan to provide the strategic foundation for government to work with industry, business, community and government stakeholders to develop a strong and skilled workforce.

We would like to give a special thanks to the Honourable Di Farmer MP, Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development, for attending the launch event and opening official proceedings.

A special acknowledgement, also, to our QCC member guest speakers:

  • Donna Bonney, Board Chair, Jobs Queensland
  • Aimee McVeigh, Chief Executive Officer, Queensland Council of Social Service
  • Ann Maree Liddy, Chief Executive Officer, CheckUP Australia
  • Cheryl Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer, Community Services Industry Alliance
  • Justine Moran, Development Coordinator, The Services Union.

Round one project funding applications through the QCC are still open to not-for-profit community organisations, industry organisations, an enterprise or a group of enterprises, to work collaboratively to build, retain and upskill the workforce they need for the Health and Community Services sectors. Applications close on Friday 24 March 2023.
