Jobs and skills are the talk of the town, with the release of the Queensland Government’s Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022-2032, and the establishment of Jobs and Skills Australia.
Queensland’s economy is on the rise as the effects of the pandemic ease, and Jobs Queensland predicts we will have more jobs, and not enough people to fill them.
Businesses, industries, communities, and all levels of government need to work together to build a bigger, better trained, and more productive workforce.
The Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022-2032 outlines a 10-year plan to find ways to connect, educate and attract the workers our state will need, now and into the future.
As Jobs Queensland Board Chair, I have been invited to join the Queensland Workforce Strategy Industry Roundtable, to help inform and guide action under the Strategy.
Key deliverables for Jobs Queensland under the Strategy include:
Our Anticipating Future Skills Series employment projection data will continue to inform individuals, organisations and region/industry stakeholders, to identify where the new jobs are and what skills are needed now and into the future.
Jobs Queensland’s Workforce Planning Connect resources are also available for micro, small and medium enterprises, to support the Strategy and help business owners set a plan to employ the workers they need to keep their business going strong.
