Jobs Queensland joined Region Development Australia – Darling Downs South West and Toowoomba Regional Council in Toowoomba for ‘Exploring Toowoomba’s Bold Ambitions’ on 3 December 2019.

The Toowoomba region is a community full of rich traditions and is on an upward trajectory of economic development.

Bold Ambitions 2038: A Blueprint for Regional Prosperity is a blueprint for enhancing the vibrancy, liveability and economic sustainability of the Toowoomba region. It outlines the desire to embrace new opportunities, where businesses of all sizes and types are able to grow, innovate and prosper and where the benefits of economic growth are shared equitably.The event focused on how local stakeholders can drive workforce planning that supports regional economic development. It brought together around 30 stakeholders from industry, community, education, training and skills development, and government with a focus on strengthening local collaborative arrangements in Toowoomba.

The event included a panel discussion, facilitated by Jobs Queensland Board member Kristine Skippington, with representatives from Jobs Queensland, Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Regional Development Australia – Darling Downs South West, Department of Employment, Small Business and Training, and Toowoomba Regional Council. The panel focused on the themes of collaboration, data, regional workforce planning and engagement.
