Project background

Jobs Queensland has developed a series of 13 place-based Regional Tourism Workforce Plans in consultation with tourism industry stakeholders around the state.

These regional plans support the Queensland Tourism Workforce Plan 2017–20; an industry-endorsed framework that identifies key skills and workforce drivers critical to the tourism industry’s growth. The statewide plan also provides a clear and measurable action plan that government and industry can implement together to grow Queensland’s tourism workforce.

The Regional Tourism Workforce Plans provide more specific advice and actions at a regional level. They have been tailored to individual regional needs ensuring regional differences are adequately reflected, and that recommended actions provide practical solutions to local issues.
